If USCIS requires a medical examination for your application, it must be performed by a designated civil surgeon, who records the results on Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record. Dr. Ramkishun performs these examinations for the Orlando community with care and discretion.

An immigration medical exam is one required step in your application — it is not an immigration decision. All decisions about your case are made solely by USCIS. We cannot influence, predict, or expedite USCIS outcomes, and nothing on this page is legal advice.

The process

Four steps from scheduling to sealed envelope

  1. Step 1

    Schedule and prepare

Request an appointment and let us know it's for an I-693 exam. Bring a government-issued photo ID and your vaccination records — original documents or certified copies, with certified translations if not in English.

  2. Step 2

    The examination

Dr. Ramkishun performs the physical examination required by USCIS, including a review of your medical history, tuberculosis screening, and required blood tests. A mental health evaluation is included when USCIS requirements call for it.

  3. Step 3

    Vaccination review

Your vaccination record is checked against the current USCIS requirements for your age group. If anything is missing, required vaccines can be administered or documented appropriately.

  4. Step 4

    Form I-693, sealed for USCIS

Once results are complete, Form I-693 is filled out, signed, and sealed in an envelope for submission with your application. You'll also receive a copy of the completed form for your records, as USCIS instructions provide.

Good to know

Common questions

What should I bring?
Photo ID, vaccination records, any relevant medical records, and — if applicable — documentation from prior treatment. The office will confirm the full list and current fees when you schedule.
How long does it take?
The visit itself is a standard appointment; total completion time depends on required test results and any vaccines needed. The office can give you a realistic estimate when you schedule — timelines vary by individual situation.
Will my information be private?
Yes. The examination is a confidential medical visit, and results are handled according to USCIS instructions and applicable privacy laws.
Do you handle the immigration paperwork or legal questions?
We complete the medical examination and Form I-693 only. For legal questions about your application, please consult an immigration attorney or accredited representative.
